Soyam Bapu Rao

Bapu Rao’s political journey began as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Boath constituency in Andhra Pradesh in 2004. In the 2014 elections, he contested as a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) candidate from Boath but lost to Rathod Bapu Rao. After the state’s division, he joined the Indian National Congress and contested the 2018 elections from Boath, again losing to Rathod Bapu Rao. However, in the 2019 Indian general election, Soyam Bapu Rao secured victory as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate, winning the Adilabad Lok Sabha constituency by defeating Godam Nagesh of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) with a margin of 58,560 votes12.

Beyond politics, Bapu Rao’s family plays a crucial role. He is married to Barathi Bai and has two sons and a daughter. His daughter, K. Keerthi Reddy, was listed in the prestigious Forbes India 30 under-30 list in 2021.

As an MP, Soyam Bapu Rao actively participates in parliamentary committees, including the Standing Committee on External Affairs. His commitment to public welfare continues to resonate, making him a prominent figure in Telangana’s socio-political fabric.
