This comes two weeks after a Delhi court discharged him of offences under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 315 (act done with intent to prevent child being born alive or to cause it to die after birth).
Bharti, however, claimed that his voice was doctored. “My face is not visible in the debate. I spoke to her over the phone. My voice has been altered and parts of my arguments have been edited to make it sound hurtful,” he claimed.
Somnath Bharti is already facing trial in connection with the January 2014 midnight raid at Khirki Extension, in which the court had framed molestation charges against him for allegedly assaulting Ugandan women.

The trial court had granted bail to Bharti on the grounds that he was no longer required for investigation and observing that since he was a member of Delhi Assembly, there was no ground of apprehension that he may flee.

Bassi over the ongoing JNU controversy, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Somnath Bharti on Friday alleged it seems that the Delhi Police Commissioner is loyal to the 'Khaki' pants worn by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers. He said the Delhi Police is taking haphazard action. When Bassi talks about the 'khaki', it is not clear whether he is talking about the policemen, who wear the 'khaki' uniform or the 'Khaki' pants which the RSS workers wear.
