Mumbai, Feb 29 (ANI): Demanding the Bharat Ratna, the nation’s highest civilian honour, for his father and legendary playback singer Mohammed Rafi, Shahid Rafi, his son, said on Monday that his father probably did not get the honour because he was a Muslim. Asserting that his father was a secular person, Shahid said the government should do something about awarding him the Bharat Ratna. He also rubbished media reports that had quoted him as saying that Muslims were feeling insecure under the current regime. He said that he has never said anything specifically about Modi Sahib. What he had said was about his father.
