After Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit triggered a row with his remark comparing Army chief Bipin Rawat with a 'Sadak Ka Gunda', party vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Monday urged politicians to avoid making such statements.
Sandeep Dikshit had triggered a row by describing Army chief Bipin Rawat as a "sadak ka gunda" (street thug). Taking strong objections over his remarks, the BJP demanded an apology from its chief Sonia Gandhi.
"Our Army is strong and ably guards our country. Whenever Pakistan has done something, our Army has given a reply... It’s another matter that the Prime Minister of the day and some people want to shout about this," Sandeep Dikshit said

Congress leaders K C Venugopal and Ranjeet Ranjan today gave the privilege motion against Irani, citing her arrogance and blatant lies as the reason for doing so.The privilege motion against Irani is being moved with regard to the discussion related to the suicide of PhD scholar Rohith Vemula in August last year.
New Delhi, Jan 27 (ANI): Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Wednesday lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party for the political crisis in Arunachal Pradesh. He said that it is a “murder of constitution and democracy”. He said the duly elected government was not disturbed for many years, but as BJP came into power, it “gave money and destabilised” the state government. He accused BJP chief Amit Shah of political crisis in Arunachal Pradesh. Echoing similar sentiments, Congress legal cell head KC Mittal said the imposition of President rule in Arunachal Pradesh is totally uncalled for. He added that when the matter was in the Supreme Court, then the Centre should have not interfered. Mittal believed that this is not a constitutional crisis and has been totally made up. BJP leader Siddharthnath Singh, on the other hand, said the Congress just wanted to politicise each and every matter. He said the state government was taking cognizance of the matter and they are taking it seriously.
New Delhi, Jan 19 (ANI): Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Tuesday alleged that Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya was somewhere "anti-Dalit" in nature. He said the reason behind the Dalit student suicide has not been clearly stated. He added that the Congress has always tried to be with the downtrodden at large and would continue to do so. Meanwhile, commenting on the issue, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said the incident that happened in the Hyderabad University was unfortunate and offenders would be punished soon. He added that Bandaru Dattatreya is a person who is compassionate about Dalits and targeting him for political gain is not fair.
New Delhi, Jan 15 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Friday said the arrest of Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) chief Maulana MasoodAzhar in connection with the Pathankot attack was all a media hype. Swamy stressed that there has been no confirmation from Pakistan and therefore media statements could not be considered factual. Meanwhile, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit also expressed his views, saying the arrest made by Pakistan is nothing but ostentation.
New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Siddharthnath Singh on Thursday said that the government is keeping a close eye and would take appropriate action on the arrest of Jaish-e- Mohammad (JeM) chief Maulana Masood Azhar. He added they should wait for further response from the government on the same. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on the other hand said that the arrest of the JeM chief is a welcome step, however, it is doubtful whether he is arrested in a house only or proper arrest has been made. He said only time would tell if any kind of stringent action would be taken against him or not. Dikshit expressed his gladness saying that the Modi government is following the policy of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
