Ronit Roy is beyond question the most well-known TV celebrity in the industry today. He was born and brought up in Nagpur and made his debut in Bollywood in the year 1992 with 'Jaan Tere Naam' playing a lead role. After trying his hand on small budget movies for the next few years, he started getting offers from Balaji Telefilms. This was the time when he emerged as a star and soon became famous for his roles of K D Pathak, Rishabh Bajaj, Mihir Virani, Neil Khanna and Aparajit Deb in serials like Kasautii Zindagi Kay, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kasamh Se and Adaalat among many others. Later, he received immense appreciation for his acting and got offers from Bollywood again. His critically appreciated movie, Udaan in 2010 brought him back in the limelight as he won the Best Actor in a Negative Role Awards at Star Screen and Zee Cine Awards for his role of an oppressive father. He also won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for same.
