Manto is a biographical film based on acclaimed late Urdu writer Saadat Hasan Manto. Directed by Nandita Das, the film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Manto and Rasika Dugal as his wife. The film premiered at Cannes and received positive reviews.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rasika Dugal are currently at the 71st edition of the Cannes Film Festival for the world premiere of their movie, Manto. For the red carpet, the co-stars kept their looks poised and elegant.
The 33-year-old actor Rasika Dugal said there is always a "mixed feeling" when a film is being presented to the world. She is, however, confident that Manto, that stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the main role, will connect with the audiences.
Rasika Dugal, who was seen in films like 'Anwar' and 'Tahaan', will next be seen in 'Hamid'. The film directed by Aijaz Khan is based on the current volatile scenario in Kashmir. Talking about the film, the actor said that she has learnt the Kashmiri dialect from one of her friends for the film.
