The effect of the brainstorming sessions Banerjee had with Kishor and his team was visible during the July 21 Martyrs' Day rally when unlike previous years no leader from rival political parties joined the TMC.
Kishor had met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata on Thursday, raising speculation about working with her in the near future to help her foil the BJP's growing influence in the state.
Rabri Devi on Friday claimed that Kishor had met her husband Lalu Prasad with the proposal that the RJD and Nitish Kumar's JD(U) merge and the new entity thus formed declare its "prime ministerial candidate" ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
Kishor, who became a full-time member of the JD(U) in September last year, took to Twitter admitting that he had met Prasad "many times" before joining the party, but added, "If I were to tell what all was discussed, he (Lalu) would be quite embarrassed".
