“There will be no more political disturbance in the Hills. I have suggested that they should bring in the revolution of development, instead of resorting to violence and bandhs, which will only result in destruction,"Pawan Chamling said,
Chamling said it is common knowledge that the state has been suffering for the last 33 years due to Gorkhaland agitation remains totally cut-off and isolated when bandhs are called by political parties in Bengal and added that the state has lost more than Rs 60,000 crore.
"The only access to the rest of the country is through the state of West Bengal. Sikkim is sandwiched due to the agitation and prevailing law and order situation. As far as the national security is concerned, Government of India is appropriately handling the matter." the statement said.
