New Delhi, Feb 19 (ANI): Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas, Umar Khalid’s Father, appealed Khalid to surrender before the court and let the law take its course. A PhD scholar Khalid is accused of organising an event protesting the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru and has been absconding since then. Ilyas further said the Centre should establish peace in the university instead of politicising the issue.

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Students’ Union president Kanhaiya Kumar was produced in the Patiala House Court on Wednesday in connection with the anti-national slogans raised during an event in the university. Kanhaiya, along with other students of the university, had put posters to protest against the ‘judicial killing’ of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. Security has been beefed up outside the court to avoid any kind of scuffle.
