The move comes in the wake of findings from the investigation into the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh that suggested that members of a radical Hindu group involved in the murder were also involved in attacks on theatres screening the movie in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
Epic big-screen dramas like Padmaavat and Mahanati are a part of the selection of Indian Panorama films for the 49th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), to be held in Goa next month.
“Those who want to watch should leave the state. They are not worthy of living in Rajasthan. Anyone who can’t save his sisters and daughters cannot have Rajasthani blood and is not a Rajasthani," Shri Rajput Karni Sena chief said.
“The attack on the school bus was not an act by any Rajput or Hindu group. I am absolutely sure that Bhansali and his network are behind the attack. It is not the dharma of a Rajput or a Kshatriya to attack children,” said Sena patron Lokendra Singh Kalvi.
