Himesh Reshammiya starrer Tera Surroor, that released on March 11, opened at the box office with a collection of Rs 1.79 cr. Himesh's film got mixed response from the critics but audiences were impressed with the film's songs. The film is currently in theatres and has been doing average business at the ticket window. Sonam Kapoor recently thanked Malala for watching the film and also shared a picture of the Pakistani activist from a London screening on the social media. The actress has suggestively drawn a resemblance to Neerja, the catchphrase of whose biopic reads, “Fear which gave her courage”, and Malala, whose famous saying is, “I am stronger than fear.” Sonam plays the role of protagonist Neerja Bhanot, a Pan Am stewardess, who was killed by terrorists in 1986 while saving the passengers during a hijack. Both, Malala and Neerja have been brave hearts and their bravery has been recognised all over the world. Sonam Kapoor starrer ‘Neerja’ also starring Shabana Azmi released on February 19. The film has so far collected a whopping Rs. 29 crore.projects that Ayan Mukerji has planned for the coming decade.
New Delhi, Feb 24 (ANI): Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who is flying high since 'Neerja' release, expressed her desire to work in the West, but only if she gets a strong character to play. In an interview with a leading daily, the actress said that she had worked very hard not to be this exotic Indian girl in India and to prove that she took up a film like ' Neerja.' When asked if she doesn't like international stardom, Sonam Kapoor said that for her, conquering the world is not important, rather conquering and honing her craft is more important. She further said that she would not like to start all over again and will only do something if it holds a lot of weight - she wants a "strong, amazing" character. With this statement, does Sonam want to take a dig at Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra who are all set to make their Hollywood debuts with ' XXX' sequel opposite Vin Diesel and 'Baywatch' opposite the Rock respectively.

Sonam, who will be seen in an upcoming biopic Neerja, was present at the inauguration of Women of Worth Awards, an initiative by NDTV and Loreal Paris, which throws light on women’s inspirational and impactful work.The actress said that for her Neerja Bhanot was a woman of worth because she gave up her life to save lives of others.
