Pune: Breach in Tiware dam; body found 40 km downstream, toll now 19

The Tiware dam, classified as a minor irrigation tack, located off Karad Chiplun Road in Ratnagiri district, had started overflowing on Tuesday evening. Around 9.30 pm, a part of the wall developed a breach, resulting in a flood-like situation and subsequently, a large part wall of the dam was completely demolished by the force of water.

Mumbai: 8 additional NDRF teams deployed

Even as teams rushed to carry out search and rescue operation at Kurar in Malad East, where retaining a wall collapsed, the force assisted the BMC and the Navy in evacuating trapped residents of Kranti Nagar in Kurla, which lies along the river.
