The matter came to light after four persons were arrested with chemicals worth Rs 1,000 crore from Kalina in December 2018. Salim Dola (52), Sandeep Tiwari (38), Ghanshyam Saroj (43) Chandramani Tiwari were arrested with four drums of Fentanyl.
The man, Gulab Singh, reportedly worked as a driver for a constable posted at Unit 7 of the crime branch, located in Ghatkopar West. According to police, the constable paid Singh remuneration for his services each month.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Dilip Sawant said that on January 14, 2014, a hit-and-run accident took place in the Wadala area. A tanker ran over a cyclist identified as Iqbal Khan (40), who supplied raw material to bakeries in the eastern suburb.
The police said the accused Abhijeet Singh, who was a friend of the girl, wanted to get close to her by making these anonymous threats. As per police, the girl would get scared and confide with him about the threats which he felt was helping them get closer.
After a search operation for almost 48 hours, the Mumbai Crime Branch on Wednesday employed two drones to locate the body of Kirti Vyas (27), allegedly disposed of at a nullah near a cinema house in Wadala.
