Mitchell Johnson's career was one that took time to take off and when it did, it had batsmen covering in its wake. Johnson's peak came in the 2013-14 season when his aggression and his the speeds that he clocked on the ball flat lined the South African and English batting line ups. His career has also been peppered with many lows, a reason why he could never get recognised among the pantheon of truly great Australian pace bowlers. Johnson is the fifth Australian fast bowler to claim 300 Test wickets. He has suffered a long term condition with his wrists and hence, he can spray the ball widely off target when he is not having his day. He seems to have gained control of that only after he was dropped for Australia's tour of India and returned to the Test side sporting a moustache and clocking speeds that could tame the best batsmen in the world. Johnson is also a fairly good hitter of the ball and was initially expected to be an all rounder. He has once century against South Africa.
