Addressing a press conference here, BJP Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari alleged that while the Kejriwal government set aside over 23 per cent of the funds allocated to education for 1,033 state-run schools, it gave only 1.4 per cent to 743 NDMC-run schools
As per data submitted by the corporations to the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities in December 2017, there were 719 sanctioned posts for special educators in the north corporation and 365 in the east corporation.
An official said that on the last day before schools closed for summer holidays, the North Corporation launched a surprise inspection. It was found that 21 teachers, including the principal, were not present but had marked their attendance in the register.
Around 10 lakh children studying in classes I to V in over 1,700 MCD schools have to make do with old text books because the Delhi Textbook Bureau is yet to print and supply new books to these schools as it reportedly has a running dispute with the Delhi government.
