"Mark Wood, the speedster, is known for terrorising batters. Wood is a fearsome bowler who is capable of generating speeds in excess of 90 mph. He is also an excellent swing bowler, and he can make the ball move both ways off the seam. Wood's bowling has been a key factor in England's success in recent years. Even as a youngster, Wood had an uncanny ability to bowl at express speeds and that became evident as he rose through the ranks. His express deliveries, often accompanied by steep bounce, challenge the best in the business. Wood's impact lies not only in his wicket-taking ability but also in his capability to disrupt opposition batters' rhythm. He had a memorable performance during the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, hosted by England. Overall, he picked up 18 wickets and was among the top six bowlers in the list of most scalps. But what set him apart was his fiery spells that were instrumental in securing England's historic victory. His crucial wickets and hostile pace rattled the opposition, setting the stage for England's maiden World Cup triumph.
