Mansukhbhai Dhanjibhai Vasava, born on June 1, 1957, is a prominent figure in Indian politics, known for his dedication and service to the people. He hails from Narmada, Bombay State, India. He holds a master’s degree in Social Work (M.S.W.) from Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahemadabad and graduated (B.A.) from South Gujarat University.
His political journey began with his election to the 12th Lok Sabha in a by-election held on 25 November 1998 from the Bharuch Parliamentary Constituency of Gujarat. He retained his position in the lower house of the Indian parliament in the subsequent Lok Sabha elections in 1999, 2004, 2009, and 2014 from the same constituency (renamed as Bharuch in 2008) four times in a row. He also served as a Deputy Minister in the Government of Gujarat in 1994.
He started serving as the Indian government's Minister of State for Tribal Affairs on May 22, 2014, when Narendra Modi became prime minister and held this position till July 5th, 2016.
