New Delhi, Jan 11 (ANI): Describing the riot in Malda district as an act of communal violence, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Monday asked why secular leaders are silent on the incident. Naqvi further said the way communalisation is done under the protection of the West Bengal government is unfortunate and condemnable. He also alleged that the state government is playing vote bank politics on the incident.

Malda, Jan 11 (ANI): The three-member fact-finding delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who were detained here on Monday, lashed out at the state government for denying them entry to the violence-hit area in Kaliachak and asserted that they had come to Malda will the sole purpose of helping the people but failed to do so, as Section 144 had been imposed in the area.SS Ahluwalia said, "The District Magistrate told us himself that Section 144 had been imposed due to the law and order situation in the area. New Delhi, Jan 11 (ANI): Holding West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee responsible for the Malda rampage, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Siddharth Nath Singh on Monday hit out at the state government for the detention of a three-member fact-finding team of the BJP at the Malda Railway Station. Singh said that when a three-member delegation of BJP goes to Malda to know what the facts are on the ground, they are detained at the Malda station.
