Locust Attack

Swarms of locusts have been sighted in Madhya Pradesh, Vidharbha region of Maharashtra and urban areas of Rajasthan. Locusts are a group of short-horned grasshoppers and can travel anywhere depending upon wind speed and direction. They devour leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, bark and growing points, and also destroy plants by their sheer weight as they descend on them in massive numbers.
