Kuldeep Yadav's big moment of recognition came in the 2014 Under-19 World Cup for India in which the chinaman becoming the leading wicket-taker for India. He also became the first Indian bowler in the tournament ever to take a hat-trick. The youngster, who further gained reputation for troubling the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar in the nets, was bought by Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2012 season, but he had to wait two more years to get a debut match in the T20 league. Playing 3 matches for Kolkata Knight Riders, he went on to take 6 wickets at an average of 16.67. After his IPL performance, he found his groove in the 2016 Duleep Trophy in 2016 and took 17 wickets in three matches. His performance seen him getting into the national side and in India's tour of West Indies in 2017. In the same year, he took a hat-trick against Australia in a home series. He further carried on his form in the limited-overs series in South Africa, becoming the leading wicket-taker in the ODIs. In 20 ODIs, he has taken 39 wickets at an average of 20.03.
