KL Rahul

Karnataka's KL Rahul grabbed the spotlight with his consistent performances in the U-19 side. In 2011, he made his first class debut for his state, but he failed to make himself a regular in the team. He returned to play again for Karnataka in 2012-13 season, where he went on to become the highest run-getter of the season. His performance saw him getting a Test cap against Australia but he failed to make the most of the opportunity, getting out cheaply with terrible shot selection. But Rahul went on to slam a ton in the same series and backed the faith of the selectors. Rahul's consistent performances across all formats, posited a conundrum for the selectors on the opening pair. His abilities continue to grow under the leadership of Virat Kohli, as the right-handed batsman played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL. KL Rahul has played 23 Tests in which he has scored 1,478 runs at an average of 40.5. He has also played 15 T20I for his side, in which he has scored 500 rusn at an average of 45.45.
