A high-level committee probing the controversial event during which anti-national slogans were allegedly raised had found Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya guilty of "arousing communal violence and disrupting harmony on campus".
The High Level Enquiry Committee of the Jawaharlal Nehru University on Monday suspended student Umar Khalid from one semester and imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on him for organising pro-Afzal guru inside the campus.
"Whatever Kanhaiya ji said against PM Modi is completely wrong and unacceptable. It would have been better if he had spoken against those 'Deshdrohis' who raised anti-national slogans rather than PM Modi," ANI quoted Behal as saying.
New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi on Monday said they have evidence that clearly shows that Kanhaiya was raising anti-national slogans and delivering speech. He added that they are gathering information about other members and once they will be identified, they will be arrested soon. He further said that they have already taken Kanhaiya’s verdict and is still analysing the matter.
