Four Maoists arrested with cash, arms and ammunition in Jharkhand

Chatra, Jan 12 (ANI): The Jharkhand Police arrested four Maoists with cash, arms and ammunition during raids conducted in Chatra district. Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted raids at several places in Chatra district and arrested four people associated with a Maoist splinter group from two spots and recovered rupees 15 million in cash. Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Upendra Kumar, said three rebels were arrested from a hideout while another was nabbed from a different location. The police also seized huge cache of arms and ammunition from the ultras. Kumar added that the recovered money was collected in form of levy from shopkeepers, contractors and businessmen. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the facts.
