The committee of creditors (CoC) is now expected to meet on Monday (February 18) to take up the bids. Lenders to JIL have already approved the proposed evaluation matrix of the bids and the process for request for resolution plan through electronic voting.
Expressway SHO Vedpal Singh Pundir said, “An FIR under IPC Section 394 (dacoity) been registered against Sameer Gaur, Colonel Tiwana, Mangal Singh, Naushad Ali – who form the top management – and around 300 other security guards. We are investigating the case.”
Earlier this week, the Supreme Court refused permission to Jaiprakash Associates Ltd to hive off the rights of multi-crore six-lane Yamuna Expressway. The apex court, however, extended the time from October 27 to November 5 for the company to deposit Rs 2,000 crore.
“The panel, which is to be headed by the consumer affairs secretary, will study and submit a status report within three days. We will see if there is any jurisdiction... We want to protect the interests of home buyers,” Paswan told reporters.
“The actions as have been taken under the Code have led to a situation wherein the lifelong savings of the flat owners will go to waste with no prospects of them recovering the same, if their interests are not saved by this court,” the petition said.
