The announcement from the prosecutor's office in the northeastern city of Tianjin said Meng had abused his positions, including as a vice minister of public security and head of the maritime police to "illegally accept cash and property in return for performing favors for others."
China had announced earlier on Wednesday that an investigation had found Meng spent "lavish" amounts of state funds, abused his power and refused to follow party decisions, and that he had been expelled from the party and sacked as deputy public security minister.
The Supreme Court had issued warrants to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to produce Haqqani, a prominent critic of Pakistan's military, before it in January last year, but the Interpol had refused to issue an arrest warrant against him in April last.
