Elephant goes berserk, damages vehicles

Pulappata (Kerala), Feb 28 (ANI): An elephant in Pulappatta district of Kerala went berserk, damaging motorbike, auto-rickshaws. Two mahouts (elephant riders) tried to calm down the jumbo, but to little avail. The video of the incident, which took place around February 25, went viral.

Sitapur: Girl allegedly shot dead for opposing eve-teasing

Sitapur (UP), Feb 23 (ANI): In an another shocking incident, a girl was allegedly shot dead by bike borne men for opposing eve-teasing in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur. Victim's sister said two men use to eve-teased them regularly. She alleged that the police did not perform their duty in spite of registering a complaint. Circle Officer (CO) Rahul Mithas informed that the police are inquiring from the nearby people to collect evidences. The victim's body has been sent for post-mortem and a probe is on.

Imposing sedition charges on Kanhaiya is condemnable: Owaisi

Politicians react over former DU lecturer's arrest

New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): Reacting over the arrest of former Delhi University lecturer SAR Geelani, Congress leader P.C. Chacko said the police cannot act in disproportionate manner. He added that before arresting the lecturer, police should assure whether he was involved in the incident or not. He further said that the police should not proceed without clear evidence as the action was taken in a hurry. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nalin Kohli said any issue that involves violence is not right and should be seen by the court of law. He added that the incident happened on Monday evening should be investigated thoroughly as this was already said by the Delhi police commissioner.

5-year old died after falling into pit in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): A five-year old girl died after falling into a pit in Kishangarh area of New Delhi. Her father said that she went to feed a cow with her friend to a nearby place where the incident took place. He added that DDA Authorities have not been told about any compensation till now.


Train molestation case: JD-U MLA Sarfaraz Alam arrested by Railway Police

Patna, Jan 24 (ANI): Janata Dal (United) (JD-U) MLA Sarfaraz Alam, accused of abusing a couple on a train, was today arrested by the Railway Police. According to the complaint, the incident occurred on January 17 when Alam allegedly misbehaved with the couple on board the train. An FIR was registered against him with GRP Patna the next day. The MLA was allegedly travelling without ticket and was drunk. A footage of the purported incident was also aired by the media. Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Alam after reaching Railway Police Station, maintained his stand and said that allegations against him are baseless.

Accused arrested in Bijnor incident

Bijnor, Jan 12 (ANI): Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bijnor, Subhash Singh Baghel on Tuesday said the accused who mercilessly thrashed her mother-in-law, has been arrested and would be presented in the court today. Condemning such incident, Baghel stated that he has instructed the officials to investigate in this matter so that a message is delivered to curb such incidents in future. The accused lady, Sangeeta Jain was caught after her husband, installed a CCTV camera inside the house and the camera captured Sangeeta assaulting her 70-year old mother-in-law.
