Last year Kodagu district was devastated by flood and landslides during the rainy season. As per the predictions by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on heavy rain in the district, an orange alert has been declared in Kodagu on August 6 and red alert from August 7 to 10.
Apart from these four districts, as many as 13 districts are under deficit. These are Devbhoomi Dwarka, Rajkot, Morbi, Kheda, Vadodara, Panchmahal, Narmada, Dahod, Mahisagar in central Gujarat and Mehsana, Patan, Sabarkantha and Banaskantha in northern Gujarat.
While night temperatures at most places in the states remained in the normal range, night temperatures are expected to hover around 10 to 11 degrees over Pune and neighbouring areas by the end of this week.
