The exam will be held in two shifts -- 9:00 am to 12:00 noon (Paper-1) and 14:30 pm to 17:30 pm (Paper-2). This year, the seat allocation process across IITs, NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutes (CFTIs) will be completely online.

Director, chairman posts lying vacant in IITs, IIITs and NITs: Education Minister

147 posts of faculty are lying vacant in centrally-funded IIITs. As many as 8 posts of chairman at IITs are lying vacant along with 21 posts of chairman at NITs. Further, 5 IITs and 5 National Institute of Technology (NITs) are functioning without directors.

While most applications were filled by the IITs from 2009-2019, the most patents were granted to the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). For IITs, of 3,751 applications only 519 were granted while for CSIR of the 24,13 applicants, 1,917 were granted.
