“More than 100 people who were associated with the accused were questioned in connection with the case. We then conducted raids in Sirsa, Chandigarh, Mohali, NCR, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra looking for them,” said DCP (west) Vijay Singh.
The observation by Justice V K Rao came during the hearing of a plea of a Hauz Khas eatery that was shut down for being located in a structure of over 15 metre height, violating the rule laid down by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Sayed Musawwir Ali, DPCC member secretary, said, “The notices for violations were issued over a period of time. We had issued a total of 22 closure notices. But only 21 restaurants were shut down as one eatery had shut earlier.”
The bench which also comprised Justice C Hari Shankar was worried about how the South Delhi Municipal Corporation, Delhi Police, Delhi Fire Services and other agencies, had allowed commercialisation of the village which had led to public nuisance and health hazards.
New Delhi, Jan 22 (ANI): The Delhi Police conducted massive mock drills in the national capital ahead of the Republic Day celebration. A number of prominent Delhi areas, including Hauz Khas and Khan Market, were evacuated during the drill. Bomb disposal squads, quick response teams, emergency response vehicles, fire tenders, ambulances etc were present on the spot. The prime objective of the drill was to check the alertness of the security forces amid a high alert situation.
