Former JK Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu quits PDP

Drabu has been upset with the party leadership Drabu ever since he was shown the door by then CM Mufti and removed from the Finance ministry in a cabinet reshuffle in May this year.

Who is Haseeb Drabu?

Drabu was made J&K's finance minister by late Mufti Mohammed Sayeed after the PDP formed an alliance with BJP following the 2014 state elections. Drabu played an instrumental role while negotiating the terms and conditions of the agenda of the alliance.

While addressing an event themed 'Kashmir: the way forward', Haseeb Drabu had asked people to "introspect" over the nature and origins of the situation in the state and how it can be resolved.
