Gurjeet Singh Aujla, a stalwart of the Indian National Congress, is a name that resonates with dedication and commitment in India's political landscape. Born on October 30, 1972, in the culturally rich city of Amritsar, Punjab. After completing his education at P.N.B. Sr. Secondary School, he embarked on his political journey with the Indian National Congress. His political acumen and dedication soon led him to the forefront of Indian politics.

His political career took a significant leap when he won the by-poll to the Lok Sabha seat on March 11, 2017. This election was necessitated due to the resignation of Captain Amarinder Singh in 2016. Aujla’s victory over BJP nominee Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina by a margin of 197,491 votes, marked his arrival on the national political stage.

He reaffirmed his political prowess in the 2019 Lok Sabha election by securing the Amritsar Lok Sabha seat. He defeated Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, garnering 444,052 votes, which accounted for 51.78% of the total votes.

His courage came to the fore in 2023 when criminals stormed the Parliament. Despite the imminent danger, he and security officers managed to disarm one of the criminals. His bravery in the face of danger earned him widespread admiration and respect.
