Google Assistant in India is coming to phones in India without any internet, as it will soon be available via a phone call. The technology giant also announced a slew of other new features for Assistant in India, including language decoupling, food delivery support, App Actions, and the interpreter mode in Hindi.
Google Assistant could soon be used to send text messages using voice commands without unlocking the phone. To use the feature, users can simply ask the Assitant to send a text message, dictate the message and specify contact using voice commands directly from the Android lockscreen.
Google Duplex, a special feature of Google Assistant, which can call restaurants or businesses in some US cities to schedule an appointment or reservation, has started rolling out to some non-Pixel phones.
Google Assistant will now extend services, so users may book rides for various destinations through Ola and Uber. The service is available on smartphones and digital speakers, though it is currently supports English only.
