India slipped to 101st position in the Global Hunger Index (GHI) of 116 countries, from its 2020 position of 94th, and is behind its neighbours Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal.

Reacting to the Global Hunger Index 2020 report which has ranked India 94 among 107 countries, Rahul tweeted in Hindi, "India's poor are hungry because the government is busy in filling the pockets of some of its special friends."

Out of the total 107 countries, only 13 countries fare worse than India including countries like Rwanda (97), Nigeria (98), Afghanistan (99), Liberia (102), Mozambique (103), Chad (107) among others.
