Stating that the incident has demoralised the staff, the SDM also demanded registration of FIR against the farmers and their arrest for illegally confining him, Tehsildaar Harminder Singh Hundal and 30 other staff members on March 25-26.
There are women too in large numbers and they are in no mood to lift the dharna. They have set up canopies along the railway track, some have cushion and others are using paddy straw to make themselves comfortable. Some of the volunteers are on the job of making langar and serving tea.

Police said they had anticipated a clash, and over 3,000 officers, including paramilitary personnel, were deployed to restrict entry of thousands into Delhi. But as the situation spiralled out of control, senior officers rushed to the spot to take charge.
“Our journey began on September 21 when we travelled to Haridwar, where the protest started. We have been on the road since then to demand loan waiver and regularisation of electricity prices,” said 45-year-old Saroj from Madhya Pradesh.
