The plot of The Verdict State Vs Nanavati elicits different emotions-- from anger, sympathy to laughter. Despite being based on a murder case, it brings humour through the characters of Chandu Trivedi and his "handler" Ram Jethmalani.

Directed by Shashant Shah, the 10-episode series The Verdict 'State Vs Nanavati is based on the real-life incident of 1959 and follows the trial of naval officer KM Nanavati. In it, Elli will be playing Sylvia, wife of Kawas Nanavati, and Kubbra will essay the role of Mamie Ahuja.
Amy Jackson who was earlier rumoured to be playing Lisa Haydon's part in the Telugu and Tamil remake of Kangana Ranaut starrer Queen is replaced by Elli AvrRam and Shibani Dandekar. Elli will be seen in the Tamil and Kannada remake while Shibani in the Telugu and Malayalam versions of the film.
