Three army commandos, including two Captains, and a militant were killed on Sunday in the fierce gunfight with a group of terrorists holed up inside a government building on the outskirts of Srinagar, raising the toll to seven in the encounter that began yesterday afternoon.
The SAD-BJP governments welfare-oriented Budget has little to spare for its two main social sectors health and education. While the outlay for education,including technical education,is just 2.53 per cent of the state gross domestic product a few notches down from last year that for medical and public health is a mere 0.81 per cent in the 2012-13 Budget,just 0.13 per cent higher than the previous year.
Pampore, Feb 22 (ANI): The gunfight between security forces and terrorists underway in Pampore, Jammu and Kashmir, entered the third day on Monday with the death toll reaching to seven, including one terrorist. The terrorists are holed up inside the multi-storeyed government complex of Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) on the Jammu- Srinagar National Highway. The entire area has been cordoned off as security forces are engaged heavily with the terrorists.
