Tamil Nadu recorded more than 1000 positive cases for the second consecutive day, with 1162 cases recorded today. Among these, Chennai reported 967 positive cases, bringing the city's total to 15,770.

Shops selling groceries and essentials, which come under the jurisdiction of the Chennai police, are allowed to operate between 6 am to 7 pm. All standalone and neighbourhood shops can function between 10.30 am and 6 pm.
