India starts single entry e-visa facility for Afghans; here is what it means

India has in the past granted long duration visas to Afghan nationals — of all religions — facing persecution in that country and many Afghans who fled the country during the first Taliban takeover and in the two decades of war after are living in India.

As per the new proposal, tourists will pay $10 for a 30-day e-visa in the lean season and $25 during the peak season. A new five-year e-visa will be introduced, which will cost $80, while the fee for one-year visa has been kept at $40.
