TRAI new DTH rules: The number of free channels available at the Network Capacity Fee (NCF) of Rs 130 has increased to 200 in total, which was earlier limited to 100. These new provisions come into effect on March 1, 2020.

Following a change in pricing by All India Digital Cable Federation (AIDCF), cable TV channel subscribers will be offered 150 Standard Definition (SD) channels for NCF of Rs 130 instead 100 channels previously.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Chairman R S Sharma told PTI that out of these nine crore TV homes, 6.5 crore are cable TV homes while 2.5 crore are DTH homes.
