Cometh the moment, cometh the man - This saying was proven true by the wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik in the final of the T20I tri-series against and Bangladesh in March, 2018. At 32, Karthik has seen his ups-and-downs in his career. He was one of the many wicketkeepers who were tried out by former India captain Sourav Ganguly during his reign. But with the arrival of MS Dhoni, the opportunities became limited for him for India. But the Tamil Nadu batsman alsmost made it count whenever he was given the opportunity. On the back of a solid domestic season, and good performances in the IPL over last couple of years, the wicketkeeper has found a way back to the Indian side- a second coming for him. In 79 ODIs he has scored, 1, 4956 runs at an average of 29.92. He has also scored 1,000 Test runs in 37 innings at 27.78. In 2018, he will lead Kolkata Knight Riders as the captain.
