Delhi recorded the minimum temperature settling at 4.6 degrees Celsius in the wee hours of the day. The fall in the temperature is due to cold wave conditions prevailing over northwest India, the Indian Meteorological Department was quoted as saying.
"Really sorry for all the delays and inconvenience caused. We have been continuously monitoring the situation and trying to improve the system performance," junior civil aviation minister Jayant Sinha said in a tweet on Tuesday.
As per the MeT department, Sunday could see shallow fog, with the maximum temperature dipping by a notch at 19°C. Over 49 trains are running late, 13 rescheduled and 18 cancelled due to prevailing conditions.
