Six dengue cases reported in Delhi this year: municipal report

According to the report, a case each was reported in January and February and four in March this year. While no fresh cases of malaria have been reported, three chikungunya cases have been recorded this year, two in February and one in March.

The weekly report released by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Monday claimed 290 fresh cases of dengue reported in this week, taking the total confirmed cases to 1,310.

Dengue cases cross 4000 mark in Delhi

Until October 7 this year, the data revealed, the capital had reported 4,545 cases of dengue. Of these, 53 per cent patients acquired the infection from outside the city.

The number of dengue cases reported till September 23 was 3,109. Of the total 3,865 dengue cases, 1,807 affected people were residents of Delhi, while the rest were from other states.

According to the latest data by the MCD, 288 fresh cases of dengue were reported last week, till September 23.

"In the next 10 days, we will come out with a detailed plan to tackle dengue and chikungunya in Delhi. There is a need to act on a war-footing against these diseases," Arvind Kejriwal said. So far, 500 cases of dengue have been reported in the city.
