New Delhi, Feb 11 (ANI): Tributes poured in from across the country for the Siachen braveheart Lance Naik Hanamanthappa. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and three service chiefs paid their last respect to the Lance Naik at Brar Square in New Delhi on Thursday. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were also among others who paid their last respects to the Lance Naik. Hanamanthappa, who was miraculously found alive after remaining buried under huge mass of snow for six days at the Siachen Glacier, passed away at Army's Research and Referral Hospital at 11.45 a.m. today.

Appreciating Lt. Gen. Jacob he said that he was a straight forward man and his contributions played a very vital role in the development of the country. He further asserted that he developed good relations with him when he was governor of Goa. Lt. Gen. Jacob, 92, passed away on Wednesday morning following a 13-days illness. He played the key role in India's victory in the India-Pakistan war of 1971.

New Delhi, Jan 11 (ANI): While addressing at the 66th Army Day celebrations in Delhi Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday said that anyone who harms the country, should be given the same lesson. He also said that until the pain inflicted on the soldiers is transmitted, terror organisations will always enjoy giving pain to the country. He further stated that he is proud of the country's solders but he felt pained when the soldiers died.

The Defence Minister, however, dodged the question on whether he thinks Pakistan would act upon the leads provided to them in wake of the Pathankot terror attack. Parrikar earlier said that he was deeply pained when a soldier lost his life.
