The case was registered in Amaravati by Andhra Pradesh police on a counter complaint by TDP alleging "a conspiracy" by YSR Congress leaders and followers and some police officials of Telangana with the aim of "stealing" data belonging to it.
The affected hotel brands were operated by Starwood before it was acquired by Marriott in 2016. They include W Hotels, St. Regis, Sheraton, Westin, Element, Aloft, The Luxury Collection, Le Méridien and Four Points.
The fake Facebook accounts originating in Iran mostly targeted American liberals, according to the Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab, a thinktank that works with Facebook to study propaganda online.
What Facebook knows so far is that hackers got access to the 50 million accounts by exploiting three distinct bugs in Facebook's code that allowed them to steal those digital keys, technically known as "access tokens."
