Manipur, Feb 17 (ANI): Dancing to the tunes of folk music, these groups of artists from Zelianagrong tribes of Manipur showcased their rich culture during the 11th Zelianrong Folk festival at Sangaiprou Kabui village. The theme was Unity, Peace and Solidarity. The festival was organized by the Society for Promotion of Community Task (SPCT) with an aim to promote and preserve the age-old culture of Zeliangrong, a Naga tribe. Cultural troupes of Sangaiprou, Ireng, Zeme and Inpui performed a variety of cultural dances and sangs. The main attraction of the event was a traditional drum beating by a group of artists. During the event, the performers also demonstrated an age-old custom of fire making with bamboo. The tribal people also set up stalls selling handicrafts items like neck pieces, headgears and other ornaments. Such festivals help to keep alive the tribal culture of the Naga society.
