He further said that it is necessary for international community to fight terrorism by sharing intelligence and also by adopting of training techniques from each other. New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday went to meet Siachen avalanche lone survivor Lance Naik Hanumanthappa at the Army's Research and Referral Hospital. He is the lone survivor out of group of ten Indian soldiers who were wiped out by an avalanche in the Siachen last week. Modi, along with Army Chief General Dalbir Singh, interacted with the doctors, who treated the soldier.

Jacob, 92, passed away on Wednesday morning, following a 13-days illness. He played a key role in India’s victory in the India-Pakistan war of 1971.Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader Lal Krishna Advani paid his tribute to former Lt. Gen. Jacob. Amongst other dignitaries who paid tributes to the 1971 war hero were current Chief of the Army Staff General Dalbir Singh, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs Vijay Kumar Singh and Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Muazzem Ali. New Delhi, Jan 13 (ANI): Army Chief General Dalbir Singh on Wednesday said that there were some media reports that only two columns of the army were deployed in Pathankot area which was wrong, as there were eight Army teams which were deployed. He also said that he had given three directions to commander; security of assets, containment of the contact and maintenance of a strong cordon. He further stated that National Security Guard (NSG) is the best force to deal with hostage situation and that is why one team was deployed to handle the Pathankot issue.
