The NTA has reminded candidates that several formalities such as biometric verification, frisking and attendance marking will take place before the examination begins. Students must therefore reach the centre at the reporting time mentioned on the admit card.

The CUET PG 2026 exam, beginning in March, will be held in three shifts each day — Shift 1 from 9 am to 10:30 am, Shift 2 from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm, and Shift 3 from 4 pm to 5:30 pm.

As per the updated guidelines, the number of NTF vacancies has been increased to 20 seats per year, up from the existing five, marking a fourfold rise aimed at strengthening academic and research capacity at the institute.

The move comes after NTA earlier revised the list of exam cities for CUET PG 2026. The total number of centres has been reduced from 312 to 292, with the examination set to be conducted across 272 cities in India and 16 cities overseas.
