The condition of over 1,200 Indian workers held hostage by a company in Angola was grim and the government should take immediate measures to expedite their release,a Gujarati worker who was among those stranded in the African country said here on Saturday on his return.
Panaji, Jan 27 (ANI): The Goa Government announced that heli-tourism would commence in the province from next week. Foremost tourist destination Goa will now provide visitors with an aerial view of the state's pristine beaches and forts. Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar made the announcement on Tuesday after taking an aerial view of Panaji city. Parsekar and Parulekar were the first fliers of this service introduced by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) and leading helicopter company, Pawan Hans Limited. Pawan Hans intends to fly atop beaches, Panaji city, old Goa among other sightseeing places. The company's chairman and managing director (CMD), BP Sharma, said if the popularity of heli-tourism grew among the tourists, the company would also introduce intercity connectivity in the future. Sharma added that all safety measures for fliers in adherence to Director General Civil Aviation guidelines had been taken.
