Scindia, who is spearheading the Congress campaign in Madhya Pradesh, also said the entire state leadership and party cadre was "working cohesively" to chart out the party's plan to dislodge the BJP government after "14 years of misrule".
"All had thought winning the two seats was tough (for the BJP). The Congress had won Kolaras by a margin of around 25,000 votes in 2013. We narrowed this gap to around 8,000 votes in the bypolls," the CM said.
Comparing the proposed expenditure of Rs 1,86,685 crore in the 2018-19 budget with the Rs 21,647-crore Budget in 2003-04, presented by the then Congress government, Malaiyya said it had amounted to an increase of more than nine fold.
“When I got down at the Washington Airport and travelled on the road, I felt the roads in Madhya Pradesh are better than the United States… I am saying this not just for the sake of saying,” Shivraj Singh Chouhan said.
Chouhan briefed the USIBC members on the investment opportunities available in the state in several areas, especially the food processing sector. Chouhan reiterated his commitment to support industry post GST and promised to resolve their pending issues within a short period of time.
The Congress claimed that over 40 such deaths took place in this month alone, which also saw an agrarian unrest rocking the state. According to police, two cases of suicide were reported from Sehore, the home district of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
