Chandigarh: Centre okays extra grant of Rs 246 crore to UT Administration

Following the approval of the grant, UT Administrator V P Singh Badnore on Friday morning called the municipal councillors along with UT Adviser Manoj Parida and MC Commissioner K K Yadav, and announced Rs 152 crore for the corporation.

Information sought under the Right to Information (RTI) Act revealed that the department of forest and wildlife installed 24 such boards near the trees and five more are to be installed. The exercise which could have been done in a few thousands will cost almost Rs 2.50 lakh to the exchequer.
