The high court snubbed Chandigarh Administration for its decision to demote an employee of the Department of Food and Supplies and Consumer Affairs for seeking information under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
Union Territory Administrator Badnore was interacting with the staff and representatives of the parents’ association at the Government Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disabilities (GRIID), Chandigarh, on Thursday to strengthen and upgrade facilities for children with disabilities.
Yadav then clearly stated that “office hours are from 9 am to 5 pm and lunch break is only from 1 pm to 1.30 pm. The secretary specified that in the opening office hours “there will be a grace period of only 10 minutes..."
The High Court had begun its monitoring of the state of health infrastructure in the government hospitals in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh in December last year during the hearing of a bunch of matters related to hospitals.
Badnore heard 41 individuals and groups regarding issues concerning Municipal Corporation, Estate Office, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Health, Police, Education, Social Welfare and Chandigarh Housing Board.
